Cousin Ludie’s Spooky Ghostballs
Ingredients:
- 1 c. oleo
- 1/2 c. confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- Additional confectioners' sugar (for rolling)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Beat oleo and sugar until light and creamy. Add remaining ingredients, mixing to combine.
- Use a teaspoonful of dough and roll into small ball.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly and roll in confectioners’ sugar.
- If you don’t want to bake ‘em all up at once just save the
leftover mix in a can under your sink.
Dick Cheney’s Chocolate Birdshot Balls
This little fella is ready for some Birdshot Balls!
Ingredients:
- 1 c. oleo
- ¾ c. confectioners’ sugar
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 ½ c .flour
- ½ c. cocoa powder
- 1 c. whole almonds
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Beat oleo and sugar until light and creamy. Add everything else except almonds, mixing to combine.
- Use a teaspoonful of dough and roll into small ball hiding an almond inside each one.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly then throw ‘em at a friend’s head. (Also works well with a sling shot)
- This is a good birthday party budget-stretcher. It’s a sweet treat and a party game.
Ground Pork Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup lard
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs (well beaten)
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup nuts (which ever kind you like)
- 1/2 cup orange rind (shredded)
Instructions:
- Brown ground pork: drain grease, and set aside. Cream lard, white & brown sugars, and eggs. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon.
- Blend in peanut butter, nuts, and shredded orange rind. Stir in ground pork. Shape into small balls on greased cookie sheet. Press down with fork dipped in sugar.
- Bake at 350 for 10 min. — about the time it takes to listen to tracks 1-3 on our record! Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
- What you don't eat right away, either keep in the fridge or on top the beer keg.
Dump Cake
Ingredients:
- One 8 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained, save juice
- One 21 ounce can cherry pie filling
- One package yellow cake mix (the kind without pudding)
- Two sticks oleo, melted
- Coconut, shredded
- Pecans, chopped
Instructions:
- Lightly grease up a 13 x 9 inch pan.
- Dump the pie filling in pan. Spread evenly.
- Dump the pineapple over that. Spread that out.
- Next, dump the cake mix in evenly. Work out the lumpy bits.
- Pour melted oleo and pineapple juice evenly over the whole mixture.
- Sprinkle with coconut and nuts.
- Bake in the oven at 350° for 1 hour OR on tour bus engine at 65 mph for 5 hours.

- Beverage suggestion: kahlua and buttermilk
